Shelf-Life and Storage

Fresh milk will keep in the refrigerator for about 10 days, and will keep frozen for 3 months. Keeping milk on the lowest shelf at the back of the refrigerator will help prolong freshness.  The jugs that the milk comes in do have enough room to accommodate the expansion that occurs during freezing - but sometimes it effects the seal of the cap. After freezing, the cream in the milk is clumpier. If you bring the milk fully to room temp, it should return to normal . Those who would prefer to freeze in glass can transfer the milk to glass and freeze that as well. Just be sure to leave ample room for expansion or the milk will break the glass.
